The team places users at the heart of the development of interactive systems, whether using the computer as a tool to accomplish tasks or as a partner integrating artificial intelligence. The aim is to encapacitate users by enabling them to perform otherwise impossible actions, thanks to the ability of interactive tools to create and control complex transformations in real time, thus supporting intellectual and creative processes. To achieve this goal, we aim to make technology transparent and adaptable, so that it is not a hindrance, but enables users to concentrate fully on their tasks. The team seeks to better understand and exploit human capabilities to improve the interaction loop and develop co-adaptive interactive systems.

Loop has a strong international presence, with regular publications at leading venues such as ACM CHI, DIS, and UIST, and multiple best paper awards. Loop plays an active role in major national initiatives, contributes to national efforts on human-centered AI and user experience design, and sustains long-standing collaborations with leading academic partners across Europe and North America.
